Real preview

When you save and preview content in Contensis, you see exactly what would be published. The preview is fully functional and navigable.

The reason Contensis is able to give you a real preview is due to our disconnected publishing model. This enables us to run a replica of the live server, but showing your edited version of the content.

You can of course set up multiple environments – often customers will have preview and staging environments, then any number of live servers depending upon their web traffic and usage.

Dual view

Dual view is a great tool for simply viewing the latest version of a page next to an older one, allowing you to quickly spot differences in content between versions. It is possible to view any two versions of the content even if one uses an older template. To use this tool, simply select "Dual View" from the preview dropdown when editing content. Alternatively, you can access this tool from the version history tab - just click on the "Dual View" icon.

Editing with structured content

Structured content can help govern styles and level of information for items such as news or blogs

We use structured content for many of the modules in Contensis, including news and events. It allows us to provide a simple form-based approach to content entry, ensuring all data is entered and formatted correctly.

Structured content not only produces web pages, but also produces a database table. Publishing the data in this way means that other systems can easily extract the data and repurpose it.

Single-click publishing

Getting content live is straightforward. Provided you have permission to publish content, it can be made live in seconds. Otherwise, you can submit for approval. This passes the content over to be published by a designated approver.
