We provide you with the options to customise the interface to suit your needs, without the worry of making the system difficult to upgrade.
Theme (skin) support for CMS interface
You can customise the look of the interface by creating a theme. Themes can be used to add a particular logo into the interface or to offer different colour schemes, such as high contrast for visually impaired users, for example.
To implement a new theme, just copy the standard theme, make any changes, then change the theme path in the system configuration. We always recommend testing theme changes on a development server first.
We recommend that changing the appearance of the user interface should be considered carefully as it may mean that the Contensis documentation and support guides may not reflect what the users are seeing.
You can customise the toolbar to prevent the use of tools which you don't want editors to use.
You can also add functions to the interface – add custom reports or a link to the stats package of your choice.
Customise the interface by adding a "Toolbar XML" file. You can use this to change buttons, add buttons, or even change the group or role that is allowed to see a particular button.
