Both of these poll controls come with a default theme or you can edit them to suit your own design.
Online polls control
As you can see from the screenshot, multiple questions can be posed. The control has the ability to block multiple votes based on cookie or IP address.
Online polls results control
When you vote using the online polls control you will typically be presented with the results screen; this can be de-activated if you want to prevent users from seeing the results of the poll.
The results control can be embedded into any web page to show the results of any poll in your system; it does not have to be on the same page as the initial poll.
All you need do is log into Contensis and then simply click the 'create new poll' option. You don't need any technical skills and new editors can be up-and-running creating new blogs in minutes.
We aim to keep our editing environments consistent; if you have created other content in the CMS before, you will find it easy to create a poll.
As you can see from the screenshot a user can simply click add question, add answer or delete answer.
The poll preview is updated in real-time using Ajax, so you can see exactly what the poll looks like before it is deployed or used.
The poll is protected from IP and cookie blocking through configuration settings as the the poll is inserted into a page. This is because the poll may be deployed to multiple sites and might need slightly different configurations, depending on whether the site is an intranet or an extranet, for example.
Online polls are an integrated content type within Contensis. This ensures that all of the same rules apply to this as to any other type of content.
From an administrator's perspective all you need to do is add the online poll content type to your project permissions, and your users can start creating polls immediately.
All of our controls have configurable options to allow for customisations, but sometimes this may not be enough; you may have specific requirements that are not included in the standard control set.
If you are using .NET you can simply inherit from any of the standard controls and extend them to suit your needs. Alternatively you can use the same framework we use to develop new controls.
If your idea is something that would be beneficial to all Contensis customers, then just run it past us, as we often will extend the system and provide new functionality based upon user specifications and ideas.
If you attend our developer training course, then you will be able to create any extra functionality or controls you need.
