Here at Zengenti HQ, we’re looking forward to seeing some new and familiar faces at a few events this autumn. It seems to be the time of year that public service organisations and technology hooks up, so we’re attending a handful of engaging conferences. We’ll be talking with delegates about their priorities and developing ideas for how digital can meet the needs of the UK public.
First up, we’ll be attending Inside Government’s catchily titled 'Improving Customer Experience Through Contact Centre Transformation’ in London on 16 September. Though we jest, this will be a great chance to talk with people negotiating the tricky business of channel shift.
Our CMS, Contensis, is designed to accommodate the rise of digital communication with service users. However, we know there’s always more to do, and conversations continue to inform the development of our product. We aim to make the transition to digital seamless. The question isn’t if channel shift can be cost-saving for the public sector, but by how much?
This forum promises to explore customer service strategy, using best practice case studies. There’ll also be explorations into the use of social media, alongside insights shared by a range of sector leaders, including Jo Marshall, vice president at Institute of Customer Services and Bradley Wright, team lead and engineering manager of the Government Digital Service.
But a week later, we’ll be stopping in at London’s QEII for Government ICT 2.0, a 300+ delegate event that brings together IT and digital leaders from across the public sector. Professing to revolutionise public sector ICT, the conference certainly brings the great and good to the podium. HM Government’s chief technology officer Liam Maxwell delivers a keynote interview. Director general, digital technology for the Department of Work and Pensions, and commercial director, technology at Crown Commercial Service will also speak.
Seminars focus on investment in ICT, modernising (with reference to Norway as a case study), green technology, transformation and instigating change in local government. This melting pot of central and local government IT managers is sure to result in some interesting conversations.
Come October, we’ll be readying the Zenbus for a tour of Leicester, when we descend on SOCITM’s Annual Conference, 19-20 October. The conference promises to be a captivating forum for discussions around user-centric, cost-saving methods set to improve our digital landscape. Speakers from across the public sector – including representatives from FutureGov, Government Digital Service and Nesta – will share their experiences citing valuable case studies. We’re looking forward to coming away with insights and knowledge from some of today’s front-runners in digital delivery.
Topics will include: citizen-led design, shared services, building a competitive IT market, the opening up of data, location intelligence, design principles and methodology, and managing demand on public services.
Come say ‘hi’ if you’re visiting any of these events. We have a stand at each event and want to know which stories and projects have most inspired you. For us at Zengenti, it’s essential that we know first-hand what makes public sector organisations tick – talking face to face with you means we get to understand your current priorities and major challenges.
Contensis is already delivering content effectively through changing times – we offer bespoke website solutions that can be as simple or complicated as the needs of your organisation. We welcome participation, opinion and feedback from our users. This is how we grow and can continue to deliver the best products.
